Steel and iron appear in a wide range of forms, from sheet and plate to beams, box sections and tube. A useful enquiry starts with the form, dimensions and quantity, followed by any known grade or previous use.
For waste movements, the length and weight of individual pieces can be as important as the total load. Describe how the material is stored and whether it can be safely accessed by the proposed vehicle and loading equipment.
For a product or material requirement, give the intended application and any required specification. Recovered material should never be assumed suitable for structural or safety-critical use without the appropriate assessment and documentation.
