1. Who to contact
Valtoren Limited is responsible for the enquiries it receives and its use of your personal information. For privacy questions or requests, email waste@valtoren.co.uk and include “Privacy” in the subject.
2. Information involved
When you browse: the hosting infrastructure receives technical information needed to serve and protect the website, such as your IP address, requested page, browser information and request time. The website’s own code does not include analytics, advertising pixels, account registration or payment processing.
When you use the enquiry form or email us: you choose what to send. This may include your name, email address, company, telephone number, collection address, material information and photographs. Only send information relevant to the enquiry; avoid unnecessary personal or sensitive details.
The form accepts up to three photos or PDFs. Files are temporarily handled by the hosting server, attached to the enquiry email and sent to waste@valtoren.co.uk. They are not published or kept in a public upload folder. The form also uses a short-lived security token, a submission reference and hashed network identifiers to help prevent spam and duplicate submissions.
When you choose cookie settings: a small record of the choice and its expiry date is stored in your browser. It is not sent to an analytics service.
3. Why information is used
Enquiry information is used to respond, understand your requirements and discuss or administer an arrangement. The applicable basis may be taking steps at your request before a contract, performing a contract with you, or our legitimate interests in managing business enquiries and relationships.
Technical information supports delivering and securing the website. Necessary business records may also be kept to meet applicable legal obligations. An enquiry is not treated as permission to add you to a marketing list.
5. How long information is kept
The website’s saved cookie choice expires after 180 days and can be removed sooner through Cookie settings. Browser storage is removed or refreshed when you next use the site after expiry; you can also clear it in your browser.
Enquiry and business records should be retained only for as long as needed to respond, manage the relationship, meet applicable record-keeping obligations or deal with a dispute. The appropriate period depends on the record and whether an enquiry becomes an agreed service. Contact us about the records associated with your enquiry.
Uploaded files are held in temporary server storage while the enquiry is processed; copies sent by email form part of the enquiry record. Anti-abuse records contain hashed identifiers and timestamps, not your message or attachment contents. They are retained in a rolling window of up to 24 hours and pruned on the next submission. Technical logs controlled by the hosting provider follow that provider’s applicable retention practices.
6. Your choices and rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct or erase personal information, restrict or object to its use, and receive certain information in a portable form. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing.
To make a request, email waste@valtoren.co.uk. We may need enough information to verify your identity and locate the relevant records. Rights are subject to applicable legal conditions.
You can also raise a concern with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
7. Cookies, storage and updates
Read the cookie policy for details of browser storage and use to revisit your choice. This website does not use automated decision-making or profiling through its own code.
This notice may be updated if the website or information practices change. The date on this page identifies the current version.
